White Lupin had long disappeared from our native fields. The reason: The fungal disease anthracnosis (Colletotrichum lupini). In the 90s it brought the cultivation of grain legumes almost completely to a standstill. Anthracnose resistance is therefore the top priority in the cultivation of the crop. The new low alkaloid variety FRIEDA has a pronounced anthracnose tolerance with a high yield potential and reliable ripening.
Lupin is one of the native, alternative protein carriers. Thanks to their better properties, lupins can completely replace soya. In addition to its excellent internal values, lupine has a very high pre-fruit value in crop rotation due to its air-binding properties, soil loosening and phosphate mobilisation.
