Samuel Horner has joined DSV UK as Amenity Business Manager.  The appointment comes after an opportunity to re-structure the DSV UK team.  The re-structure is aimed to provide specialist knowledge and dedicated expertise to each business area.

Sam has worked within amenity turf his whole working life, 20 + years.  After studying sports turf management and amenity horticulture at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire - Sam was employed as assistant groundskeeper at his beloved Gloucester Rugby Club.  During his career path, he stepped into golf course management where he eventually became golf course manager at Gloucester Golf club.  After gaining many years of practical amenity turf knowledge, Sam decided to enter a career within technical amenity seed sales.  Today he joins DSV and brings several years of seed sales and key account management with him.

Samuel says: “I am delighted to become a part of the DSV team and for the opportunity to work with the excellent DSV grass portfolio”.

The BSPB turfgrass guide continues to demonstrate the strength of the DSV portfolio across the various species.  In 2021, five out of the top ten Perennial Ryegrasses are DSV bred material (Table S1).  The strong amenity presence continues throughout the turfgrass guide with excellent material in the forms of Smooth Stalked Meadow Grasses and across the full range of Fescues.

“It is a very exciting time to be bringing this excellent portfolio of material and my own personal knowledge to our loyal customer base across the UK and Ireland”
