Profile
Commodore represents the latest advancement in oilseed rape genetics, offering a versatile variety designed to perform consistently across various soil types and growing conditions. Developed for resilience and yield stability, Commodore provides growers with a reliable option in an increasingly unpredictable climate, all while delivering high
yields.
This variety performs well across a wide range of soil types, ensuring consistent results. Commodore is designed to be robust, instilling confidence in growers even during challenging seasons. It features excellent stem stiffness and resistance to lodging. Notably, it will be DSV UK’s first variety with RLMS, providing strong protection against Phoma stem canker.
With outstanding stem health, Commodore supports effective nutrient remobilisation right up until harvest. It has demonstrated exceptional performance in Denmark, ranking high for yields and resistance to Verticillium Wilt. The variety’s very high oil content ensures premium returns at the oil crusher and allows growers to hopefully achieve an oil bonus. Commodore’s spring strength and frost resilience are reinforced by vigorous spring regrowth, coupled with a medium flowering time that offers protection against late frosts.
Commodore will be part of our powerful pod range, which includes three key pod characteristics that significantly reduce seed losses in adverse conditions:
1. Greater flexibility in pod structure due to stronger valve margins.
2. Longer pods with optimised spacing for each seed, resulting in higher yields per pod.
3. Excellent pod health to prevent weakening of the pod structure
and early pod shattering.
-
Oustanding stem health
-
Strong resistance to Verticilium wilt
-
Longer pods with optimised spacing for each seed, resulting in higher yields per pod.
